Cracking Comedy in Kendal in 2017

Whether its theatre, art house cinema, plays and productions, exhibitions or music, Kendal and The Brewery Arts Centre is the arts hub of South Lakeland.

But another creative genre has been steadily building over the years, comedy. The Brewery is now one of the top comedy venues in the north of England with bigger and bigger names choosing to add this location to their dates each year.

From a humble monthly comedy night to now some of the world’s highest regarded and ultimately, the finniest comedians now performing in this town in Cumbria.
But why should anyone be shocked? Kendal is small and perfectly formed, is the gateway to the Lake District, looks pretty good too and even more so compared with the some of the sprawling and uninspiring cities many of the acts have the perform in night in night out and The Brewery, well it’s a little hidden gem of a venue off Highgate in the centre of Kendal.
